    Melton "Shakir" Mustafa Sr. (Novem – Decem) was an American jazz musician, music educator, and arranger who played the trumpet and flugelhorn. Mustafa, the younger brother of saxophonist Jesse Jones Jr., grew up in Miami, Florida, and learned the trumpet in middle school.
